TK Maxx

GiveGet logoA partnership between TK Maxx and Cancer Research UK, GiveGet is one of the UK's biggest ever charity clothing collections.

The aim of GiveGet is to turn unwanted good quality clothes and household items into valuable funds to help more people survive cancer.

GiveGet 2008

The Cancer Research UK and TK Maxx GiveGet campaign, which ran from 23 February to 9 March, was a brilliant success. In total, over 153,000 bags of unwanted clothing, accessories and home-ware were given to Cancer Research UK.

The unwanted stock, which was donated at TK Maxx shops across the country, has raised more than £3.2 million for research into childhood cancer.

Shoppers at TK Maxx were also encouraged to give £1 or more to the GiveGet campaign at the till. This raised an incredible £284,000.

All of the money from GiveGet 2008 will be spent on research to beat childhood cancers. Each year around 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer in the UK, and the disease claims around 300 lives.

TK Maxx and Cancer Research UK have been partners on GiveGet since 2004, and this is the third campaign so far. It's the longest and largest stock-generation charity partnership of its kind. Since 2004, TK Maxx has raised more than £7 million in collected items and cash for Cancer Research UK.

"Cancer Research UK is overjoyed at the success of this third GiveGet campaign in Partnership with TK Maxx. By working in partnership with other organisations, such as TK Maxx, who share our desire to beat cancer and with the support of members of the public, we can achieve our aims. Together, we will beat cancer."
Harpal Kumar, Cancer Research UK Chief Executive
