Cause related marketing partnerships
HSBC
In the twelve months since HSBC customers have been able to donate to charity at their ATMs, over £100,000 has been raised for the eight participating charities. So if you would like to donate to Cancer Research UK why not try this innovative method it's as simple as pushing a button at one of HSBC's ATMs.
"Donating at a cash point couldn't be easier. It's such a quick and easy way to give, and it's fantastic that over £30,000 has been donated to Cancer Research UK in this way since the scheme went live."
Christine Allingham, Corporate Partnerships Manager, Cancer Research UK
An innovative way to donate
Through HSBC's ATM donation scheme customers are able to donate to any of 6 leading UK charities Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation, Childline, Help the Aged, Mencap and WWF. These charities were chosen by staff at HSBC.
As well as being able to choose the amount to donate and to which charity, every HSBC customer is given the opportunity to immediately Gift Aid any donation they make at their ATMs.
What HSBC says
"We're thrilled that so many worthy causes will benefit from the generosity of our customers and staff who are turning to push-button-donating in large numbers.
"If every customer donated just one pound through our ATMs this year, they would be contributing around £9 million in total to the important work of British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, ChildLine, Help the Aged, Mencap, WWF and BBC Children in Need. Split evenly, that would mean around £1.5 million each and what a difference it would make."
Dyfrig John, Chief Executive, HSBC Bank plc
What Cancer Research UK says
"Cancer Research UK is delighted to be benefiting from HSBC's ATM donation scheme. It's such a winning idea, and makes donating to charity so easy for HSBC's customers."
Harpal Kumar, Chief Executive, Cancer Research UK
Employee fundraising at HSBC
Cancer Research UK also benefits from the generosity of HSBC staff through their Payroll Giving scheme, 'Keep the Change'. Staff are able to donate the odd pennies they receive in their salaries each month. All funds raised will be split equally between the 6 chosen charities.
