Using access keys
Access keys are special web shortcut keys that give you quick access to all the major areas of the site.
Access keys are different for every site, and the access keys we have put on our website are:
- s = Skip navigation
- 1 = Welcome page
- 2 = Support Us
- 3 = Patient Information
- 4 = News and Resources
- 5 = Grants and Research
- 6 = About Us
How to use access keys
How you use access keys depends on which browser you use.
Internet Explorer 5+ (Windows)
Hold down the "Alt" key, press the number of the access key, release both keys then press "Enter".
Firefox 1.5, Mozilla (Linux or Windows), Netscape 7 or 8 (Windows)
Hold down the "Alt" key and press the number of the access key.
Firefox 2.0, Netscape 9
Hold down the "Alt" and "Shift" keys and press the number of the access key.
Internet Explorer 5+, Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape 7+, Safari and Omniweb (Mac OS), Konqueror (Linux)
Hold down the "Ctrl" key and press the number of the access key.
Opera (Windows or Mac OS)
Hold down the "Shift" key and press "Escape", release both keys, then press the number of the access key.
Internet Explorer 4.5 or earlier, Netscape 6 or earlier (Windows and Mac OS), Camino (Mac OS only)
Access keys are not supported.
