Working with the Scottish Parliament
Cancer Research UK is the largest funder of cancer research in Scotland, spending nearly £36 million in basic, clinical, tobacco control and health behavioural research. In this section you can find out more about our work in Scotland.
We believe that cancer must remain one of the main health priorities for the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government.
We work with the 129 MSPs in the Parliament, advising them on cancer and research issues and their importance to the health and education agendas.

We run a programme of events with MSPs, in Holyrood and in their constituencies. MSPs have supported our annual Scotland Against Cancer conference, taken part in Race for Life and other local fundraising events, volunteered in our shops and visited our labs.
In addition, we provide the Secretariat to the Cross Party Group on Cancer in the Scottish Parliament. The Group meets regularly to hear from experts on cancer research and services in Scotland.
Responsibility for health is devolved to the Scottish Parliament which means it makes decisions about health policy for Scotland. Find out about how we are campaigning to ensure legislation in Scotland benefits public health and cancer patients.
