Social bookmarking

Increasingly, people using the internet like to share interesting or useful links with each other – by email, or via social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Delicious.

To make this easier, on various pages around this site, you’ll see the following button:

Clicking this button will open up a new window, where you will see a large number of icons:

Example of AddThis page

Clicking on one of these allows you to post or send a link to the original page to your friends and colleagues.

Importantly, you need to be registered with – and logged in to – the appropriate site or service. For example, if you have a Facebook account, and you’re logged in, clicking on our Bookmark button on a particular news story, then clicking on the Facebook icon, will post a link to the new story to your Facebook wall:

There’s also the ability to print, email or bookmark the page to your browser’s Favourites list.

If you have any questions about our Bookmark button, or would like to give us your suggestions or feedback, please use our Website Feedback form.
