About our news feed

A pile of newspapers on top of a laptopSince 2006, Cancer Research UK has published scientifically accurate daily news about progress in global cancer research. The feed covers notable advances in laboratory, translational and clinical science, and population research, in jargon-free, plain English. We also cover a range of cancer policy and industry news.

While we mainly  focus  on non-Cancer Research UK-funded research (as distinct from our press releases), we do occasionally feature research funded by the charity, for example where promotion of this research is led by other organisations.

The articles are intended for anybody interested in current developments in cancer research - primarily people affected by cancer, but also those with a professional interest, such as clinicians and researchers.

Articles are generally checked by an expert team before publication, and contain links to other relevant Cancer Research UK content, as well as the original source of the article.

From July 2011, the news has been provided in association with The Press Association. The news feed is managed by a team separate to the Cancer Research UK press office, who are also responsible for the Cancer Research UK science blog
