Cancer Research UK is the largest cancer research organisation in the world, outside the USA. It is the European leader in the development of new anti cancer drugs. It funds research on all aspects of the disease from its causes, to treatment and prevention.

We are also committed to producing high quality information for people affected by cancer, health professionals and the general public. We do this through our website, which includes patient information and news and resources, and through our range of health awareness leaflets.

An organisation that provides information about many women's health issues. Can give personalised advice on menopause problems and hormone replacement therapy. Professional counselling available. Produces booklets on a range of subjects including hormone replacement therapy, menopause, hysterectomy and ovarian cysts. The email link above will take you to a web page.  The charity now have to ask for a minimum donation of £5 per enquiry.  So the web page has a link to take you to a Paypal site to pay the charge, before automatically directing you to the email form.

A charity set up by the cosmetics industry. Volunteer beauty therapists provide skincare and make up workshops for women undergoing cancer treatment. All guests are provided with a goodie bag worth £150-200. It has been running for 12 years and workshops are held in 40 hospitals across the UK. Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. They provide booklets on cancer and treatments and run a helpline providing cancer information and benefits advice.

Healthtalkonline
This site has collections of patient experiences in writing and as audio and video clips. You can find out about other people's experiences of tests, treatment and living with ovarian cancer. There is also a patient forum. Healthtalkonline is run by the DIPEx (Database of Patient Experiences) charity.
