Diagnosing primary liver cancer

Men and women discussing liver cancer

This section tells you about the tests that are used to diagnose primary liver cancer, and the tests you may have when your liver cancer is first detected. Primary liver cancer is cancer that started in the liver, not cancer that has spread to the liver. If you have a cancer that has spread to the liver, you need to look in the section for the type of cancer you were originally diagnosed with.
