Cancer Research UK is the largest cancer research organisation in the world, outside the USA. It is the European leader in the development of new anti cancer drugs. It funds research on all aspects of the disease from its causes, to treatment and prevention.
We are also committed to producing high quality information for people affected by cancer, health professionals and the general public. We do this through our website, which includes patient information and news and resources and through our range of health awareness leaflets.

Leukaemia CARE provides support services to all those whose lives are affected by leukaemia and other blood disorders. They provide financial grants. The website has a well used message board. The phone line is staffed by volunteers. There are support groups around the country, also run by volunteers.

Runs one of the largest bone marrow donor databases in the world. There are regional centres, which are listed on their website. They are looking for people in good health, aged 18 to 40 to join the Anthony Nolan bone marrow register – in particular young men from black and minority ethnic communities.

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. They provide booklets about cancer and treatments and run helplines providing cancer information and benefits advice.

This is the American National Cancer Institute's patient information on leukaemia. It is detailed and comprehensive but there are few images.
