Tips to cope with chemotherapy side effects
From Emma Bevan
Freeze a bottle of water the day before chemotherapy. Sip the iced water during chemotherapy to help prevent a sore mouth. Buy a soft or baby toothbrush and toothpaste to help if your mouth is sore. Have ginger biscuits or tea to help if you get nausea. And rest!
Even if you feel well, do not do very much as it will tire you out. Accept, arrange and organise help around shopping, laundry, etc. Feel free to say no to guests or calls if you are tired or feeling unsociable. Do see friends when you feel well, it helps!
