Lung cancer success story
From Mrs Karen Wetherell
My husband had surgery at the Royal Brompton hospital just over 4 years ago for Lung cancer. He had one lobe of his right lung removed. Today he is very well and on his 6 monthly check ups he is told he is still improving! He carries out a very demanding job and has just gone back to motorcycling, something he loves.
During his illness our youngest daughter was only 10 but the whole family pulled together, as my mum and my husband were told they had cancer on the same day!
I really want others to know that there are success stories for lung cancer.
Two other younger members of our family have had cancer and they are all still with us today, as a family I think we are very lucky to have had so many survivors.
