Having cancer is not the end
From Mrs Marion Cairney in Stirling
I am 52 years old, mother of two adult children, Nana to two wonderful grandchildren, John aged 5 and Lois 16 months.
I have been fighting multiple myeloma for 3 years, had various treatments including a stem cell transplant which did not work. I have never given up hope and only last week after 6 treatments of velcade I have been told for the first time that I am in remission - wonderful news, better than winning the lottery.
Through all this I have meet the most amazing people who have helped me keep me strong and positive. Having cancer is not the end, it is just a new beginning take up each challenge with a positive attitude, never be negative, learn to enjoy each day simple pleasures.
It is not how long one lives but how they live each day that counts.
