Children's cancer charities

This page has information about children's cancer charities offering financial awards to families of children with cancer. They each have different conditions for their grants and we have outlined those here.

The Family Fund
CLIC Sargent

The Family Fund gives grants to lower income families with severely disabled children for things that make life easier and more enjoyable. The Fund helps with things to meet the additional needs of caring for a severely disabled child such as holidays, washing machines, computers and hospital visiting costs. All funding comes from the governments of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Parents or carers of severely disabled children can apply if

Your child is 17yrs or under in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
You have evidence of your entitlement to one the following: Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit, Income based Job Seekers Allowance, Income Support, Incapacity Benefit, Employment Support Allowance, Housing Benefit or Pension Credit
You have permanent residency in the UK and have lived in the UK for at least 6 months

CLIC Sargent provides financial and other support for families with a child or young person with cancer within the first year after diagnosis. Apply through a health professional or a CLIC Sargent social worker. They also provide benefits advice, have a holiday centre in Scotland and provide other support such as play specialists.
