Back pain at 36 - is it prostate cancer?

This page tells you about back pain and whether it could be a symptom of prostate cancer.

Back pain can be caused by a number of conditions other than prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is more an illness of older men. In a 36 year old man prostate cancer is a very unlikely cause, although not impossible. Prostate cancer is not usually diagnosed in men under 50. Half of all cases occur in men over 75.

If the back pain is a new symptom that does not go away, and you are not aware of any injury or strain, you should go to your own doctor for a check up.

There is detailed information about the symptoms of prostate cancer in the about prostate cancer section.
