Surviving breast cancer

Mags Cummings

Mags Cummings, 62 was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999 after she discovered a lump in her breast. She was successfully treated with surgery, radiotherapy and arimidex.

Mags said, "Nine years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer and it was a huge shock. But luckily I went to see my GP as soon as I noticed the lump and the cancer was caught early.

"I was very lucky that my cancer, although quite aggressive, was in its early stages and I have made a complete recovery. I would urge all women to see their doctor as soon as possible if they notice anything unusual.

I joined my local Cancer Research UK volunteer group last year and would encourage everyone to get involved in their local event during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to help raise money for research into breast cancer."
