Speak out together and campaign with us
Cancer Campaigns is Cancer Research UK's public campaigning initiative. By speaking out together, we can ensure that cancer issues get the attention they deserve from politicians and policymakers.
Screening Matters our campaign to get more people into screening
In 2007, we launched our ambitious Screening Matters campaign which aimed to get more people into breast, cervical and bowel screening.
Thousands of women are alive today thanks to breast and cervical screening, while the new bowel cancer screening programme for men and women has the potential to save thousands more.
Over 100,000 people pledged their support for our campaign and politicians across the UK received many thousands of emails. Already we have seen some fantastic commitments including extending the age range of breast screening in England and Northern Ireland.
Find out about our campaigns and join the fight by signing petitions or writing to your local politician.

Out of Sight, Out of Mind our campaign to protect children from tobacco marketing
Smoking is still the single most preventable cause of cancer and kills over 120,000 people every year. We want to see action taken to close the loophole which allows tobacco firms to promote their lethal products to children. We are urging politicians to remove cigarettes from public view and prohibit cigarette vending machines.
Already over 10,000 people have emailed the Department of Health and more than 8,000 emails have gone to politicians. Please add your support to the campaign today.
Some of our past achievements
Our campaigns for smokefree legislation in England and Wales and comprehensive cancer strategies in all four UK nations have been a great success.
Almost 300,000 people have signed one of our petitions or contacted politicians on our behalf to press them into action. By adding your voice to our campaigns, you could help us achieve even greater things.
