Sunday 7 March
UK – Cape Town
We board our international flights for Cape Town.
Monday 8 March
Cape Town – Project site
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport we are met by our expedition leader and board our coach for the transfer to the project site. On arrival, we receive a full briefing on the Project and then the rest of the night is free to relax and spend our first night camping.
Tuesday 9 March – Saturday 13 March
School Project
After an early breakfast we walk the short distance to the project site where we meet the headmistress of the school and her staff. We divide into project groups and receive our tools, safety gear and project materials. Each day, we wake up early and after breakfast, we continue with our work. We take a break for lunch and then work until the end of the day, returning to our base camp for a good dinner, football practice (if you wish), entertainment and the briefing for the following day.
Saturday 14 March
Final Project Day
After lunch on the final day, we hold a ceremony to officially handover the school to members of the local community. This will be followed by the football match and we enjoy a celebratory dinner in the evening.
Monday 15 March
Project site - Cape Town
We board our coach once more for the return transfer where we book into our hotel for our gala night in relative luxury.
Tuesday 16 March
Cape Town
The day is free to explore Cape Town until the late afternoon when we transfer to the airport for our return to the UK.
Wednesday 17 March
Cape Town - UK
Arrive back in the UK.
