 Saturday 28 February
UK – Quito
We board our international flights for Quito. Spend first night in lodge.
Sunday 1 March
Meet with expedition leader and travel to the project site in El Pedregal. On arrival we'll receive a full briefing on the project, relax and acclimatise to the project. Spend first night under canvas.
Monday 2 – Saturday 7 March
SCHOOL PROJECT
After an early breakfast we walk the short distance to the project site where we meet the staff, pupils and parents of the school. We divide into project groups and receive our tools, safety gear and project materials. Each day, we wake up early and after breakfast continue with our work. We take a break for lunch and then work until the end of the day, returning to our base camp for a good dinner, football practice (if you wish), entertainment and the briefing for the following day.
Sunday 8 March
FINAL PROJECT DAY
After lunch on the final day, we hold a ceremony to officially handover the school to members of the local community. This will be followed by the football match and we enjoy a celebratory dinner in the evening.
Monday 9 March
GALA EVENING
Tuesday 10 March
Quito – UK.
We board international flights home.
