 Sunday 28 September
UK – BRASILIA
We board our international flights for Brasilia.
Monday 29 September
BRASILIA – PROJECT SITE
On arrival in Brasilia we are met by our Expedition Leader and board our transport for the transfer to Lages. We have a full briefing on the Project and then the rest of the night is free to relax and spend our first night camping.
Tuesday 30 – Monday 6 October
SCHOOL PROJECT
We begin by meeting some of the children and their families who will work with us over the coming days and then, after lunch in the village, we start work at the school. Each day, we wake up early and after breakfast, we continue with our work. We take a break for lunch and then work until the end of the day, returning to our base camp for a good dinner, football practice (if you wish), entertainment and the briefing for the following day.
After lunch on the final day, we hold a ceremony to officially handover the school to members of the local community, this will be followed by the football match and, in the evening, we enjoy a celebratory dinner with a forro band, a style of Brazilian music with a rich local tradition.
Tuesday 7 October
BRASILIA – UK
After breakfast, we transfer to Brasilia for our return flights to the UK.
Wednesday 8 October
Arrive back in the UK.
