Celebrity supportersWho supports us
Celebrity support is crucial to help us raise awareness of the Bobby Moore Fund and bowel cancer. Sir Bobby Robson (1933-2009)"We are all very sad to hear that Sir Bobby Robson has passed away. Sir Bobby was a dear friend to both Bobby and me. Sir Bobby has always been a loyal supporter of the Bobby Moore Fund and through his Foundation has raised funds for dedicated research facilities at The Sir Bobby Robson Cancer Trials Research Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne, which will enable Cancer Research UK to undertake clinical trials of new treatments. "Bobby was not only a great footballer and one of the country's most admired managers but a wonderful man who future footballers and managers hope to emulate. Our thoughts are with Lady Robson and all the family."

Gareth also raised £10,000 for the charity by taking part in the TV Show, 'Don't Forget the Lyrics'. Celebrity partnershipsThe Bobby Moore Fund is delighted to be named as the Team England Footballers' Charity partner this year. Their goal is to raise a minimum of £1m for charitable causes ahead of the 2010 World Cup. Each player will forego their England match fees and dedicate time to support chosen charity partners including the Bobby Moore Fund. Taking part in our eventsEx-professional footballers, Rob Lee and John Beresford joined us for Project South Africa in 2008 and helped to raise a fantastic total £66,000 on the project which will go towards bowel cancer research in the UK. We would also like to thank Steve Cram MBE, Kirsty Gallacher, Hazel Irvine, Claire Tomlinson, Allison Curbishley and Clive Tyldesley for hosting the Sports Quiz in London last year on its 10th Anniversary.
