Any information you provide will be stored with complete confidentiality. We comply with the Data Protection Act and therefore require permission from you to store personal information on our system.

The information we hold is specifically recorded for the purpose of working with the media, raising awareness, guiding our research, materials and information, assisting other bodies who we work in partnership with, or share similar aims.

We may share summaries of your story and images with journalists, researchers or other relevant parties. These summaries will not contain your contact details. Any information shared with journalists, researchers or other partners is provided as background information only. It may not be used or reproduced without your consent. If a journalist or other party asks to be put in touch with you, we never pass on your details without checking with you first. We will always brief you exactly why your input is being sought and give you as much detail as possible to help you make your decision. Only when we have your permission will we share your details.

Our database

We do not use your information to ask you for donations and your details will not be included on any fundraising databases (unless you are already on an existing database because you have had contact with our fundraising department previously).
