What we're looking for
Cancer Research UK has recently launched an exciting and significant new Patient & Public Engagement strategy – a key enabler of the charity’s aim to ‘bring forward the day when all cancers are cured’.
We need a dynamic and strategic leader who has the drive and talent to deliver the transformation. The Director of Patient & Public Engagement will bring vision, insight and influencing skills to deliver and continuously optimise the patient and public engagement strategy.
It will take a special person to make the impact we need. We would be particularly interested in individuals who have excellent leadership and team management ability in complex, growth environments; a strong track record of delivering significant patient or public facing initiatives; outstanding relationship building skills and the ability to leverage broad external networks.
Our ambition is to deliver a major change in the way we connect with patients and their loved ones, involving them more closely in the work we do, so that each advancement is much better informed by the people who matter most in the battle against cancer.
Public engagement plays an equally important role, in particular through empowering individuals to reduce their risk of developing cancer and to improve their chances of earlier diagnosis.
This new strategic shift offers a unique opportunity to drive a key change through one of the biggest and most influential charities in the UK.
