To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Morrisons is raising money from an exciting range of pink homeware products for its Charity of the Year, Cancer Research UK.

Throughout October, 10p from every product sold from the special pink collection is being donated to the charity’s life-saving research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

Breast cancer is now the most common cancer in the UK. Although more people than ever are surviving it, 12,000 lives are lost to the disease each year, so it’s vital Cancer Research UK raises more funds to continue its life-saving research.

The products, starting from £1.49, include jasmine blossom candles, pink mugs and floral patterned table mats, coasters and matching trays.

Colin Middlemiss from Morrisons says: “Everyone knows someone who has been touched by breast cancer and that includes Morrisons employees, who voted for Cancer Research UK to be our Charity of the Year 2009. Cancer Research UK’s research is entirely funded by the public, and through the generosity of Morrisons customers we’re confident our pink products will boost our fundraising efforts and help take us nearer to our target of raising £1 million.

As well as selling our pink ‘At Home’ product range, during October colleagues will also be holding a wide range of fundraising events to help raise even more money for Cancer Research UK.”
