Select trial phase

Phase 1 trials test treatments for the first time in people, often in many cancer types.

Phase 2 trials test in a particular cancer type that showed promise in phase 1.

Phase 3 trials are large, randomised trials that compare the new treatment with the standard treatment currently being used.

Phase 4 trials can be carried out after a new treatment has been licensed, to find out more about risks and benefits.
