Keeping a diary

From Catherine Gurney

I find keeping a diary most helpful. I have two different types of cancer. I have breast cancer and a very rare type of thyroid cancer, no connection just bad luck! The thyroid cancer is not curable at present. There aren’t any therapies that work, only surgery, and I have had five of those. The good news though is that it grows very slowly. The breast cancer is in remission at present.

The keeping of a diary helps me because I can look back to very bad times and it reminds me of the fear I have had over 22 years. For 22 years there has been unfounded, needless worry but of course we can't help worrying. A diary gets things in perspective and helps positive thinking.  I dearly hope that this will help some folks to get through cancer.
