We are very pleased to announce a new venue and date for the Alnwick Castle Run 10k.

This event will now take place at Exhibition Park in Newcastle on 2 November 2008.

Run 10k event at Alnwick Castle on Sunday 7 September 2008 had to be postponed due to severe flooding after the recent heavy rain.

Much of the 10km course follows the banks of the River Aln and as the river burst its banks on Saturday morning the course became impassable. The organisers, Cancer Research UK, and Alnwick Castle Estate had to make the unfortunate decision to postpone because of health and safety concerns for the almost one thousand participants due to take part.

Andy Wilson Run 10k event organiser said: "We are very sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience the last minute postponement has caused and we hope everyone understands why we had to do it. We will contact all participants of the Alnwick Castle Run 10k and we will do our utmost to reschedule this event at a later date."
