Make a difference in the heart of South Africa15 – 25 November 2008
About the projectProject South Africa will give the local children and their parents the chance to continue their education in their own village, close to their families, rather than being obliged to move away. The team will spend several days working on the project and, on the final day, there will be a 'handover ceremony' to the local community. The next day the team will be transferred to Cape Town for a football match against a local team, where a trophy and medals will be awarded to the winners followed by a celebration dinner. The money you raise will go to the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK to help tackle bowel cancer. Stephanie Moore MBE, Bobby Moore's widow and founder of the Bobby Moore Fund, said: "I took part in the 05, 06 and 07 Projects to Brazil and found them to be the most rewarding experiences of my life. The help that is being given in these remote areas is vital for the local people to be able to remain in their village, and the money raised through the participants' fantastic fundraising efforts is hugely important to the work of the Bobby Moore Fund. To know that you are making a real difference to both causes is something very special." Sign up now to take part in this very special experience.
